Meet Our School Horses

Amstel – Chestnut thoroughbred gelding.

Amstel is a treasure. He wins the Mr. Congeniality award. Super lead change. Auto motor and as polite as they come. Amstel came to us from Ocala, Florida. We are lucky every day to have him.

Audaz – Imported bay Irish Sporthorse gelding.

Audaz is a cool dude. Belonging to Connecticut College, he is a large stepping guy with the outlook on life to take on the world one stride at a time. He loves the out of doors, to be gently fussed over and every jump is easy and looks the same to him.

Ben – Imported black Hanovarian gelding.

Ben is a tall, stately dressage horse. Owned by Connecticut College, he has partnered with riders to win the USDF bronze medal. He is currently schooling fourth level movements. This one is impressive!

Carlo – Imported bay warmblood gelding.

Carlo is a gift beyond compare. He is trained superbly in dressage, and has the esteem of the stable as being the only horse to have qualified for the Olympics in combined driving! He is predictable, consistent, and instills confidence in all who ride him. Such a special boy.

Cassbach – Imported bay Holsteiner gelding.

It pays to have great friends with even greater horses! This amazing horse belongs to Connecticut College. He has been #1 in the country in Adult Hunters. Looking spiffy as a handsome man in his best Tuxedo, Cassbach tries his best everyday to be excellent and achieves it! Good lead change, measured to the jumps, needs leg to get started, then continues with support. Best horse ever! (Please tell him, he loves to hear it!)

Clyde – Clydesdale/TB X bay gelding.

Originating from VA, Clyde is a super guy, accomplished in many fields. He has foxhunted, shown jumpers, evented, and has shown thru second level dressage, including USDF championships, earning a ribbons! He is a gentle giant and well loved.

Coco Puff – Welsh liver chestnut gelding

12.2 hands, ask Coco Puff how big he is, and he will say the largest (in personality for sure) in the stable! He has been with us for 21 years. He is our mascot, has taught many a child how to ride, and is not for sale. He will stay with us always.

Comet – Quarter horse X paint gelding.

Named for his Comet shaped white marking on his left shoulder, this medium pony does it all! He has evented thru Beginner Novice, fox hunted, shown in IEA as well as open shows, and dressage! He is king of the paddock and a good kid overall.

Dreamer – Quarter Horse chestnut gelding.

Dreamer quickly became a barn favorite when he arrived! He has the smallest trot and canter, and is good in any arena indoors and out, as well as in the fields and on the trails. He is trained in English and western style riding, a gem in either. We love him and know that you will as well!

Harry – Thoroughbred chestnut gelding.

Harry was bred and born for racing. He quickly decided that going fast was not for him, and became an award winning hunter with our own Deb Bakoledis. When jumping became a bit much for him, he tried his hand at dressage, went to Region 8 championships and won a class! He is available for lessons and leasing.

Hidalgo – Imported Dutch pinto gelding.

Hidalgo is one of a kind – so special is he. Owned by Connecticut College, he jumps well, has a super change, the best personality – sweet and appreciative. He is good in the arenas, around the fields at home or away shows. On a scale of 1-10, this one is a 12.

Jelly Bean – Pinto pony.

Jelly Belly is a super large pony. He is reliable and fun to ride. He always does his job, and if balanced can do his lead changes. He is super inside or out, trail or field riding, at home and away horse shows. He has won at local shows, RI Medal Finals, and been champion at Lake Placid horse show. He is a staple at our barn, and we are lucky to have him.

Merle – Appaloosa gelding.

Merle is newer to us coming from South Carolina. He is a willing partner, enthusiastic and willing to please. He is good indoors and out, in company and alone. We look forward to having him join our program honing our rider’s skills with smiles on their faces. His registered name is Merle The Pearle.

Nelson – Imported bay Holsteiner gelding.

Class is apparent in this show horse. Nelson is so handsome, nice big mover, great jumper, and a star player in the Connecticut College program. He loves attention, is an ears forward type of horse. An upper level horse, he is good on the flat and over fences.

Peep – Chestnut Canadian Hanovarian/Welsh/TB cross gelding.

Show name Speakeasy, Peep has been with us for several years. He is ridden on the flat, indoors and out. A quiet soul, good mover, winning hunter under saddle classes and high score dressage. He is good alone and in groups. He wants to be ridden correctly with leg to rein aids. He is a kind, dear soul.

Prince – Grey Welsh Cross Gelding.

Prince’s name could be King, he is that good. A polite, steady and consistent large pony who always tries his best instilling confidence in his riders. He is well loved and a pillar at our stable. He excels at shows and enjoys a nice walk around the fields.

Remy – Chestnut Welsh Cross gelding.

Show name Rhyme N’ Reason, this pony is very handsome! He is super at walk and trot, yet needs intermediate aids to canter and jump well. His personality is friendly, he loves to be groomed and fussed over. He shows at home and away shows, and we hope to have him for years to come.

Rio – Black Quarter Horse Gelding.

BEST HORSE ON THE PLANET. This kind, gentle soul has taught so many starter riders, young to adult, with confidence and the best character of a horse ever. He is on in his years, hence his use is flat only, with a weight limit of 140 pounds or less. Like Coco Puff, Rio is not for sale.

Rocky – Bay Thoroughbred gelding.

Show name Rockefeller, we call this TB gelding California Casual. He is a relaxed dude. Reliable over fences, lead changes if ridden correctly, this long strided horse breaths confidence into every ride. He is so fun and we enjoy him every day.

Sinatra – Paint Quarter Horse gelding

Sinatra is a good natured large pony, comfortable to trot and canter, sensible, good in the rings or on the trails. He is trained for hunt seat and dressage. A top pick for a trail ride or a hack around the field.

Sundae – Strawberry roan Quarter Horse gelding

Strawberry Sundae is the best natured horse around. He is super to start riders thru walk, trot, canter. He comes out the same everyday, is good alone, in company, in the arenas or on the trail.

Theo – Hanovarian bay gelding

Theo is a super well trained hunt seat show horse with a solid change. He is tall, handsome and looks for the correct cues from his rider to perform his best. This solid citizen arrived in January and is well on his way to becoming a barn favorite.

Tony – Quarter Horse bay gelding.

Antonius is a forward thinker, great on the trails, in training to become a super English style horse. Brave to the jumps, soon to be a competition horse in dressage, show jumping, and cross country.

Zorro – Pinto gelding.

Registered name Stellario, this beautiful boy came from the VA hunt country. He is well trained on the flat and loves to jump. He is super for intermediate riders, well behaved around other horses, and just generally a good guy.
